The template editor
Build emails from blocks, or bring existing designs across as MJML.
Templates are the emails themselves. Build them visually, start from a draft, or paste in raw MJML.
Walkthrough: Build a template walks the whole thing, from a layout to a saved, tested design.
Blocks
The editor works in blocks: headings, paragraphs, buttons, images, columns, sections, dividers, and spacers. Drag to reorder, click to edit, and describe a change in plain language if you'd rather not do it by hand. Output compiles to responsive MJML, so it renders in every mail client.
Layouts and components
- A layout is a shared header and footer wrapper with a slot for content. Apply one to a template and every email using it stays on brand; update the layout and they all follow.
- A component is a reusable block you save once and drop into other templates, like a CTA card or a feature row.
Archiving
Some templates can't be deleted: a layout other templates use, or an email a past send still reports off. Archive one instead. Archiving hides it from the templates list and the editor's component picker while it keeps working everywhere it's already used. Restore it any time from the Archived view.
Email style
Colors and fonts you don't set on a block fall back to your organization's email style (Settings, Email) rather than a fixed default, so templates come out on brand without per-block work. A block that sets its own color still wins.
Raw MJML
Bringing a design across from another platform? Paste the full <mjml> document
into the code editor. Pombo keeps it exactly as written, appends the required
footer, and applies the same safety checks as the visual editor. This is the way
to migrate templates without rebuilding them.
Start from a draft
Describe the email you need, for example "a welcome email with a personal greeting, two benefits, and a CTA button." Pombo prepares a complete template that you can edit block by block.
Merge tags
Any {{ tag }} in the content is filled at send time. See merge tags and
