Introduction

Pombo is an email platform for campaigns, automated sequences, and transactional email. You can build each part yourself, or describe the outcome you want and start from an editable draft in your brand's voice.

The building blocks

• Contacts are the people you email. They carry custom fields, sit in segments, and keep their own subscription status.
• Templates are the emails themselves, built in a visual editor or brought across as raw MJML. They hold your merge tags and your brand styling.
• Campaigns are one-off sends to a list or segment.
• Sequences are automated flows: one or more steps that fire from a trigger and run on their own schedule.
• Transactional email is the must-send mail (receipts, confirmations, password resets) that goes out one message at a time and skips the unsubscribe rules.

Two ways to drive it

Everything in Pombo is available from the app and from an AI agent. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-capable client and it can build campaigns, import contacts, and even migrate an account, with every action logged and held for your approval. There is also a REST API for your own backend to fire events and send transactional mail.
