Brand voice

Describe how your brand writes so assisted drafts sound like you.

Brand voice is a profile of how your company writes: tone, vocabulary, what you sound like and what you avoid. Set it once and drafts for campaigns and sequences start from that guidance.

Walkthrough: Dial in your brand voice is a repeatable loop for getting the profile right.

Setting it

Under Settings, Brand, describe your voice. You can write it yourself (formal or casual, playful or plain, jargon you use, phrases you never use), or click Generate with AI to draft it from your website: enter the URL and Pombo reads it and proposes tone, ideal customer, and positioning for you to edit before saving. A connected AI agent can do the same thing conversationally during onboarding, and can also read your existing emails, which are better signal than a homepage if you're migrating from another platform.

There's also a get_brand_voice and update_brand_voice tool, so an agent can read and refine it during onboarding.

What it affects

Pombo uses it when it prepares:

  • AI campaign generation from a sentence
  • template drafting and the "describe the change" edits in the editor
  • subject lines
  • sequence copy

Your brand color, set on the same Settings, Brand page, also steers the look of generated templates: it becomes the primary button color, and headings and accents draw from it rather than an invented palette. See email style.

It does not rewrite emails you write by hand. It only guides drafts you ask Pombo to prepare.

Tips

  • Be specific about what to avoid. "No exclamation points, never say 'excited to announce'" does more than a paragraph of adjectives.
  • Include a short sample of real copy you are happy with. Examples make the intended rhythm and word choice easier to follow.
  • Revisit it after the first few generated drafts. It's quick to tune.
