Quickstart

Sign up, verify a domain, and send your first email.

This takes about 15 minutes, most of it waiting on DNS.

1. Create your account

Sign up with your email and confirm that you have permission to email the people on your list. That confirmation is recorded; it is what we rely on if a mailbox provider asks how we know your recipients opted in.

2. Verify a sending domain

Go to Settings, Domains and add the domain you send from (for example mail.yourcompany.com). Pombo gives you a set of DNS records: DKIM keys, an SPF entry, and a DMARC record. Add them at your DNS provider. Verification usually completes within an hour.

You cannot send from an unverified domain. See verify your sending domain for the details. To see whether the records are live, run your domain through the free email authentication checker.

3. Add contacts

Import a CSV under Contacts, Import, or add a few by hand. If you are moving from another tool, carry your unsubscribes across by including a status column. See importing contacts.

4. Build an email

Create a template in the editor, or ask the AI to draft one from a sentence. Use merge tags like {{first_name}} for personalization.

5. Send

Create a campaign, pick your audience, and send. We review every account before its first send, within 2 business hours of your domain verifying and your mailing address being added, and email you when you're approved. See sending gates.
